Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

JFK International Airport is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and JFK International Airport follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The coffee was good but boy, do they need to bring up their bagel game. Since when do I feel obligated to review my airport bagel experience? Never, until now. It was legendarily bad. The worst bagel I have ever tasted. Strike one: The butter came in those little plastic packets. Okay, fine. You don’t want to butter my bagel? I’ll butter it myself, even though it’s literally your job and a pointless waste of plastic to make me do it. But okay, I have fought with the little packets of hard butter and managed to spread a layer onto the bagel, which is now almost cold. Success, of a sort. Now I try to pull apart one of the bagel halves, to render it bite sized. This turns out to be a bad idea. I might as well be trying to rip the New York phone book in half, if the New York phone book still existed (maybe it does; I’m assuming it doesn’t). But I’m hungry after two flights and a 9-hour layove in San Jose. So I try to bite into the bagel. Maybe my teeth will do a better job than my hands. Nope. I can’t bite through the phone book, and I can’t bite through this bagel, or nowhere as easily as I should be able to, seeing as it has just been sold to me AS FOOD. I could go on, but what’s the

Terrible service. Three people working behind the counter, two of them having an in-depth conversation with each other in front of the coffee machine and ignoring everyone and everything around them while I struggled with the stupid self-serve screen. Meanwhile one VERY slow staff person is doing everything, VERY slowly, and giving zero Fs. Coffee was fine. These are the workers who will be replaced by robots in a few years.

Absolutely dreadful. +45 min wait for two coffees and one bagel. When i asked which order the worker was on, she responded that she "only works off names". I had to request a refund as flight was boarding and had no idea when i might receive my order. I received the same lazy attitude the worker had while attempting to fill orders. No care, no urgency, no consideration, no manners. When the manager arrived, it became clear why this worker's attitude was acceptable there. Pathetic.

You’re at an airport people, you don’t think Starbucks reheats your food in a toaster oven too? Get over yourself, it wasn’t the best sandwich I’ve ever had but im at an airport not a gourmet restaurant.
